Sports Medicine - Etugi Course
Musculoskeletal ultrasound is a method that allows to evaluate the musculoskeletal system and all the joints; particularly useful is its use in the evaluation of the subcutaneous tissue.
The method is indispensable for the sports doctor and for all medical specialists who manage the muscle tendon and osteoarticular injury of traumatic and rheumatological origin; through ultrasound it is possible to assess the extent of muscle, tendon and joint damage.
Furthermore, it is possible to control over time the evolution of the lesion of the musculoskeletal system in order to plan the healing times and the return to athletic sports competition so as to avoid complications such as calcifications and scarring.
The course is based on an original format, the recruitment of learners in frontal practical sessions during which the participant will be able to perform, guided by a tutor, the technique of muscle tendon ultrasound and subsequently that of infiltrative therapy with ultrasound guidance of anatomical areas of the human body : shoulder, elbow, hip, knee and ankle.
Subsequently the participants will learn the correct execution of the ultrasound-guided infiltrative therapy on anatomical areas of the human body: shoulder, elbow, hip, knee, ankle and the infiltration of the nerve plexuses mainly involved in the gestures of the different sports disciplines.
The course is conceived and organized by Dr. Silvana Giannini radiologist, head of the Radiology Service of the Villa Stuart Sport Clinic and FIFA Center - Rome, Professor of Diagnostic Imaging at the University of Rome "Foro Italico" and by Dr. Giovanni Boni, Sports Physician.
