Dr. Silvana Giannini is Chief Medical Radiologist of the Radiology Service at the Casa di Cura Villa Stuart , Center in Rome.
Professor of Diagnostic Imaging at the University of Rome "Foro Italico" and Professor of Diagnostic Imaging of subcutaneous adipose tissue at the School of Aesthetic Medicine - Fatebenefratelli Foundation in Rome.
She is responsible for the Telemedicine service in sports traumatology at the Casa di Cura Villa Stuart Center and is the referent for Diagnostic Imaging for various football teams and Sports Italian Federations.
She is a member of the Scientific Medical Commission of the FIGC.
Professional Experience
Swiss Limmat Scholarship in MRI in 1984/85 at the INI in Grottaferrata.She has worked as an abdominal radiologist from 1985 to the present day, with prevalent involvement in the first 10 years in abdominal and urological imaging.
Since 1987 she has been mainly involved in the diagnostic imaging of osteoarticular pathology, specialising in muscular-skeletal ultrasound, neonatal hip, CT and musculoskeletal MRI in the fields of sports traumatology, orthopaedics and oncological pathology of the skeletal and muscular-tendon areas.
In 1987 she participated in the foundation of the musculoskeletal ultrasound section of the SIRM.
Since 1990 she has increased his diagnostic commitment to osteoarticular traumatology and the locomotor apparatus of elite and amateur sportsmen and women, and has begun collaborating in the diagnostic field with national federations of various sports, football, basketball and volleyball teams.
Since 2001 she has worked as head of the Radiology Service at the Villa Stuart Treatment Center and for about 10 years she has been responsible for the telemedicine service.
She is still the diagnostic referent of several football teams.
She performs clinical diagnostics at the Casa di Cura Villa Stuart Center using all methods: traditional radiology, contrastography, ultrasound, CT without and with contrast medium, MRI with and without intravenous or intra-articular contrast.
Since 2007 she has been performing ultrasound-guided MRI, mainly of the hip in athletes, knee, foot and elbow.
Since 2012, she has been carrying out ultrasound-guided infiltrative therapy in joints, muscles, tendons and combines, starting with ultrasound-guided PRP treatments and device-type hyaluronic acid.
She expanded her experience by introducing ultrasound-guided dry needling and pain therapy treatments. With the experience she has gained, she combines intra-articular ultrasound-guided infiltration treatments with infiltration and dry needling in the muscles, tendon area in the same session.
She e currently carries out ultrasound-guided infiltration at the Casa di Cura Villa Anna Maria in Rome.

In November 1981 she obtained Degree in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Rome "La Sapienza" with Vote: 110/110 cum laude.
She specialised in Radiodiagnostics in 1985 at the University of Rome “La Sapienza” Department of Bioimaging and Radiological Sciences Director Prof. C.Biagini - Graduation mark: 70/70 cum laude.
